METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF CEREBRAL ISCHEMIA IN NEUROSURGICAL PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B5/145

Abstract RU 2277855 C2

FIELD: medicine, neurosurgery, resuscitation.

SUBSTANCE: one should carry out bilateral monitoring for the state of cerebral oxygenation. Moreover, it is necessary to calculate the coefficient of inter-hemispheric asymmetry rSO2 (CA) by the following formula: where rSO2min - lower value of cerebral oxygenation, rSO2max - higher value of cerebral oxygenation and index of hemodynamic conformity (IHC), where rSO2 - a value of cerebral oxygenation, APav - average arterial pressure. At detecting the dynamics in values of cerebral oxygenation being ±25% and more against initial data, and, also, at CA being above 15% and IHC decrease up to 0.5 and lower one should predict the development of cerebral ischemia. The innovation enables to evaluate cerebral oxygenation against cerebral metabolic requirements.

EFFECT: higher significance and efficiency of prediction.
