FIELD: metal working, possibly working inner surfaces of revolution of large-size titanium-alloy blanks.
SUBSTANCE: milling cutter designed for working large-size blank with diameter more than 600 mm includes body having end surface and cylindrical surface; teeth in the form of tetragonal cutting tips secured to grooves of body on end and cylindrical surfaces tangentially. Cutting edges are arranged on cylindrical surface by inclination angle relative to generatrices. In order to enhance efficiency due to increased feed per tooth and increased cutting depth, cutting tips are arranged in staggered fashion on cylindrical surface of body. Diameter of milling cutter consists of 0.3 - 0.5 of diameter of inner surface of revolution of blank. Contact angle of milling cutter and blank is in range 35 - 40°. Steel supporting plates may be placed under cutting tips for protecting tool body at breakage of cutting tip.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of working.
