FIELD: plasma- electric arc torches with contact type starting.
SUBSTANCE: plasma torch with contact starting at using negatively charged cathode body and positively charged anode body includes electrically conducting member made of electrically conducting material and having no rigid joint with cathode and anode bodies. Torch may operate in idle mode when electrically conducting member creates electrically conducting path between cathode body and anode body and in duty mode when additional electric arc is formed between electrically conducting member and cathode body or anode body. Additional arc is transferred by means of working gas flowing through torch to outlet opening of torch. That is why working gas leaves torch in the form of ionized plasma. Invention prevents necessity of axial motion of electrode and (or) tip at creating additional electric arc, provides less risk of tip damage near central outlet opening of tip and lowers risk of misalignment between electrode and tip.
EFFECT: improved design, enhanced operational properties of torch.
