FIELD: plasma arc cutting.
SUBSTANCE: cable connector for connecting the wire of the plasma arc torch to the power source of the plasma cutting system includes a base section, a central channel located on the base section and configured to supply gas and torch current to the plasma arc torch, and a plurality of contacts located radially around centre of the central channel. The contacts are located radially from about 0.4 inches to about 0.65 inches from the centre of the central channel in the radial plane of the base portion. The contacts include one or more pilot arc contacts and one or more control signal contacts located at an angle of from about 27 degrees to about 64 degrees and from about 120 degrees to about 170 degrees, respectively, around the centre of the central channel in the radial plane.
EFFECT: increase in the connection reliability.
