FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma hardware. Plasma torch comprises the stage between cathode and anode. Said cascade makes an interelectrode insert. Cascade inner space is shaped to that inside diameter increases by multiple steps from cathode side towards anode side. Plasma torch output results from arc voltage increase not from increase in current, Therefore, electrode service life increases notably. Note that since quasi-laminar plasma flow is generated in cascade inside plasma jet output fluctuation decreases. Shaping nozzle anode outlet side is provided with lateral protection module to generate protective gas jet, both coaxial, circular and low-velocity. This allows generating of plasma jet of low plasma-forming gas Reynolds number with quasi-laminar flow which outputs low noise, its cross-section diameter increasing in stable manner. Said jet features larger plasma length and contains argon, nitrogen and hydrogen.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of plasma processing.
