FIELD: metallurgy, possibly melting of zinc-containing charges in blast furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of loading zinc-containing charge; blasting; controlling temperature and discharge of blast furnace gas; creating buffer layer; cyclically descending level of poured charge; restoring working position of level of poured charge. Creation of buffer layer and restoration of working position of level of poured charge are realized by loading broken slag with fraction size 20 - 40 mm and coke at relation of their masses in range (5.0 : 1.6) -(5.0 - 2.0). According to fraction size of broken slag and coke, method is designed for using in blast furnaces with volume 200 - 300 m3.
EFFECT: improved degree of zinc removal out of furnace shaft.
