FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, method is used in blast furnace production in zinc-bearing charges heats. SUBSTANCE: method provides for loading of charge with zinc, blast feeding, control of temperature and blast furnace gas consumption, formation and loading of buffer layer and periodical lowering of burden in furnace till temperature of blast furnace gas achieves 450 - 500 C. Buffer layer is formed of coke and slag crushed rock in ratio of (mass %): coke 25 - 75, slag crushed rock 75 - 25, and buffer layer height is defined by proposed formula. Substitution of part of coke with slag crushed rock during formation of buffer layer provides effective removal of zinc from blast furnace with less costs and without transfer of blast furnace in "low run" mode. Method provides decrease of pig-iron production losses and consumption of coke. EFFECT: method provides effective removal of zinc from furnace, decreases costs of production. 2 tbl
