FIELD: metallurgy, namely steel production in converter, open hearth furnace or electric arc furnace.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding reagent in stream of transporting gas into turbulence regions created in melt. Solid reagents are fed by means of turbulence gas stream with turbulence factor 0.5 -10 and with impulse 10 -44 kN s. Turbulence regions are created in melt at least by means of one oxygen lance. Said regions may be created by melt flux discharged from converter, open-hearth or electric-arc furnace. Nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide or compressed air may used as transporting gas. Solid reagents are fed to turbulized regions of melt in the form of granules no more than 10 mm. Solid reagents are fed on surface of melt from distance 0.01 - 2.0 m. Transporting gas stream is turbulized by means of insert placed in duct for feeding gas and reagent. Granulated carbon, ferroalloys, aluminum, calcium, complex alloys, fluxes, diluting agents and granulated cooling agents are used as solid reagents.
EFFECT: shortened time period of treating melt, reduced heat losses, enhanced efficiency of method.
