FIELD: methods of reduction smelting in metallurgical reaction vessels containing bath of molten metal with reagents supplied to bath surface from above and below it. SUBSTANCE: gases liberated from bath of molten metal are finally burnt in space above melt due to oxidizing gases blown into gas space, and formed heat is transmitted to bath of molten metal. Melt fraction in the form of drops, splashes and large particles of melt move over ballistic trajectories in gas space of metallurgical reaction vessel when being ejected from melt in the form of spouts by means of gas blown through lower lances.
