METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPENSATING FOR FREQUENCY ERROR OF HETERODYNE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC G01S1/02 G01S7/40

Abstract RU 2280261 C2

FIELD: engineering of electronic receiver circuits, used in global client position detection system.

SUBSTANCE: frequency error of heterodyne is minimized by means of characterization of heterodyne. Supporting signal from external source, containing minimal frequency error, is fed to electronic device. External signal is utilized as supporting frequency for estimating frequency error of internal frequency source. Electronic device tracks parameters, which influence frequency precision of the internal source. One of parameters affecting frequency of internal source is the temperature. Electronic device collects and memorizes values of such parameters, and also values of frequency error of internal frequency source appropriate for aforementioned values of parameters. Produced characteristic of internal frequency source is utilized for its compensation, when there is no incoming external supporting signal.

EFFECT: decreased frequency error of receiver heterodyne due to introduction of compensation in accordance to working conditions.
