FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely foamed ceramic filters possibly used in casting production for filtering melt non-ferrous metals and alloys.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing suspension of powdered titanium and carbon black in organic binder; agitating prepared suspension with pore former- foamed polystyrene at volume relation 1 : 2; by means of punch shaping of prepared mass blank with rectilinear through ducts; drying blank, then blowing it with argon; after initiated reaction and next cooling of blank forming layer of titanium dioxide on surface of filter.
EFFECT: enhanced refraction degree, effective flow-through capability of filter due to regulating diameter of open pores and their closeness.
