FIELD: food-processing industry; heat treatment of food-stuff, malt in particular.
SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus consists of two truncated cones interconnected coaxially by their bases for better mixing by blades mounted inside them; procedure of unloading finished product is also facilitated due to availability of angle of repose; material is unloaded from drum upon completion of rotation. During rotation, drum is supported by support rollers sliding over bands. Raw material contained in drums is fried by heated air delivered by fan. Hot air is fed to drum through special-purpose gas distributing unit located inside apparatus; smooth flow rate of frying is obtained due to availability of supply pipes in gas distributing unit of different outlet sections over entire length of apparatus; their sizes increase from end faces of drum towards center, thus ensuring smooth flow rate of air. After hot air has passed through layer of malt being fried it is evacuated from drum through gas discharge branch pipe mounted above gas distributing unit.
EFFECT: improved quality of fried malt at reduced power requirements.
