FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding, mainly, to design of nonconsumable electrodes for welding of metal structures made of aluminum and titanium alloys, stainless and structural steels of medium or large thickness in shielding gases by sunken arc. Proposed nonconsumable electrode has cylindrical housing 1 with working part 2 whose top is made in form of torus. Spherical form ring groove 3 made in working part 2 smoothly changes into top 4 of working part, and blind cylindrical hole 5, also made in working part, has semispherical bottom 6 reaching level of horizontal axis 7 of ring groove 3.
EFFECT: improved technological indices of process of arc welding by sunken electrode, increased service life of electrode.
