FIELD: railway transport; signaling and communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to crossing protection system providing closing of crossing depending on coordinate, speed and acceleration of approaching train. According to proposed method, ac signal is continuously applied to rail line at supply end, and amplitude of voltage and current is measured continuously. Preliminarily, amplitude of voltage and current at different values of coordinate of arrangement of train shunt from relay to supply end of rail line is measured. Great number of measured values of voltage U1, current I1 and train coordinates Xt corresponding to them are formed by means of which system of equations of train location coordinate is formed whose right part is equated to values of train coordinate Xt , and solvent the system of equations, coefficient Ct of adjustment of train coordinates are determined. By measuring current value of voltage and current, current coordinate of train on approach section is determined. Speed of train on said section is determined and then, actual coordinate of closing of road crossing is determined with due account of possible acceleration of train.
EFFECT: increased through capacity of crossings owing to provision of minimum closed time over entire range of speeds and acceleration of train.
