FIELD: spacecraft and their control equipment for orientation and stabilization in space with the aid of gravitational force gradient.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine has body with working medium inside it in form of agent sublimating at heating and electric heaters. Engine is also provided with coolers; engine body is hermetic; electric heaters and coolers are located near end faces of body. It is good practice to position working medium in opposite end faces of body. During operation of engine, electric heaters and coolers are switched on/off at different sequence and in different combinations in accordance with re-distribution of working medium mass inside body, thus creating required control moments of gravitational force gradients.
EFFECT: increased service life of engine due to avoidance of consumption of mass for control; enhanced efficiency of solar batteries due to absence of contamination products of engine effluents.
