FIELD: molded ceramic abrasive or friction articles whose composition includes carbon fibers in carbon matrix.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in molding skeleton of article from carbon fiber at orientation of fibers and pores mainly in parallel with end planes. Skeleton of article and carbon agent are placed in hermetic envelope and in framing of skeleton with material whose heat conductivity is higher than heat conductivity of skeleton and carbon agent; at least two skeletons are placed in hermetic envelope at conjugation of end planes. Framing is made between end planed of article skeleton in form of gaskets; size of external contour of gasket exceeds that of end plane of article end plane. Then, friction article blanks are subjected to sealing by liquid-phase impregnation of article framing with molted hydrocarbon agent and carbonization of them in hermetic envelope under action of pressure and heat. Proposed method makes it possible to perform group manufacture of articles at enhanced smoothness of heating, enhanced degree of and homogeneity of impregnation of blanks and consequently enhanced tightness.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method.
