FIELD: test engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises light source, ruling target with spatial frequency Ni, collimator lens, and means for processing and receiving information from the photosensitive area of the matrix element of the TV camera, which are arranged along a single optical axis. The ruling target is provided with the mechanism for moving perpendicular to the optical axis and is positioned in the focal plane of the lens to be tested. The photosensitive area of the TV camera matrix is mounted in the focal plane of the collimator lens whose focus distance should be fc ≥ 6pNifl, where fc is the focus distance of the collimator lens, mm, fl is the focus distance of the lens to be tested, mm, p is the size of the pixel of the photosensitive matrix, mm (p ≈ 0.006 mm), and Ni is the spatial frequency, r/mm.
