FIELD: methods of enhancing cleanness of quaternary ammonium hydroxide by electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes loading water which does not obligatory contain supporting electrolyte into anolyte chamber, loading water which does not obligatory contain quaternary ammonium hydroxide into catholyte chamber, loading waste aqueous solution to be treated into intermediate chamber which is located directly behind anolyte chamber and passing current through electrolysis cell, thus forming cleaned aqueous solution of quaternary ammonium hydroxide solution in catholyte chamber. Intermediate chamber is separated from anolyte and catholyte chambers by cation-selective membranes.
EFFECT: avoidance of clogging of anolyte chamber.
