FIELD: heat power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conversion of thermal energy liberated at combustion of fuel mixture into energy of other type converted into useful work. Method comes to conversion of thermal energy into energy of other type by combustion of fuel with formation of working medium conveying its pressure energy to inertia accumulator-column of nonstationary moving incompressible liquid which reciprocates with acceleration and braking and creates inertia head, and subsequent conversion of kinetic energy of inertia accumulator into useful work of continuously moving energy receiver of actuating mechanism, with use of column of nonstationary moving incompressible liquid providing inertia head. Proposed device is essentially closed piston system consisting of pipe on opposite ends of which combustion chambers are mounted to form working medium, and pistons placed inside to play part of inertia accumulator and connected with actuating mechanism executing useful work in form of continuous-action energy receiver. Common column of incompressible liquid is used as pistons, and positive displacement pump is used as actuating mechanism. Hollow pocket is mounted on outlet pipeline of pump. Column of incompressible liquid in straight-line pipe has seals at opposite sides providing preservation of its form.
EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced service expenses.
