FIELD: measurement engineering.
SUBSTANCE: locating ring can be used for adjustment of devices used for measurement of diameter of holes. Locating ring has to be ring rolled-up of metal tape. Length of tape equals to L=πxDH, where π is constant; DH is diameter of neutral layer. Tape is rolled-up to form the ring without space dismountable to make a joint at parts of height of the ring. Thickness of ring's wall and mechanical characteristics of metal are similar to corresponding characteristics of item to be measured.
EFFECT: provision of rigidity of the ring being similar to rigidity of item to be measured.
