FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining upper zygomatic arch edge and a vertical line intersection point projection on skin, the vertical line being drawn from the lowest point of mandible incisure, and lower mandible edge line and frontal chewing tuberosity line intersection point projection. Underlying bones are punctured and skeletonized in the vicinity of these points. Ligature is conducted from the upper wound apart from the zygomatic arch towards inside along the internal surface of mandible branch and brought to the lower wound surface. The ligature is brought out of the lower wound along the external surface of mandible branch outside of the zygomatic arch into the upper wound. Ligature ends are pulled and tied above the zygomatic arch keeping patient mouth open to 2/3 of norm.

EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications.
