SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dentistry and physiotherapy. By conducting electromyographic examination of masseter muscles, bioelectric activity of temporal and masseter muscles is determined. Further, using magnetic resonance imaging, the boundaries of the masseter muscles and the articular disc of the temporomandibular joint are visualized, interrelation of intra-articular disc and condyle of temporomandibular joint. Position of the articular head in the glenoid fossa of the temporomandibular joint, as well as the displacement of the condylar process and the articular disc of the temporomandibular joint are determined. That is followed by intramuscular injection of medical carbon dioxide in the projection of the lower portions of the lateral pterygoid muscles between the notch of the lower jaw and the zygomatic arch by the intraoral method into trigger points of front, middle and back portions of temporal muscles and deep part of masseter muscles.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase efficiency of minimally invasive surgical treatment of syndrome of pain dysfunction of temporomandibular joint, reducing the length of treatment, reducing costs and simplifying the technology of medical rehabilitation and therapy.
