FIELD: inorganic compounds technologies.
SUBSTANCE: preparation of sodium silicates in above-indicated form containing less than 15 wt % water and having silicate ratio 1.3 to 4.0 is accomplished by spray drying aqueous sodium silicate compound and firing sodium silicate with water level at least 15%. More particularly, aqueous compound is first heated to 35-90°C and activated to start drying by way of passing it through magnetic field with intensity 250-750 kA/m in any point of the portion of sodium silicate compound stream, affected by magnetic field. Action time of magnetic field of any point of magnetic field-affected is at least 10-12 sec. Firing of dried sodium silicate is accomplished with the aid of hot gas at temperature not below 200°C.
EFFECT: increased dissolution rate in water by at least 20%.
