FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing high-modulus liquid glass for producing structural materials. The method of producing high-modulus liquid glass includes preparing a suspension of a silica-containing amorphous substance in sodium hydroxide solution and hydrothermal treatment at 85-95°C and atmospheric pressure. The silica-containing substance used is regenerated filter spent filter bergmeal powder, which is ground in a ball mill to particle size of (0.1-10)·10-6 m. The obtained fine bergmeal powder with particle size of not more than (0.1-1.0)·10-6 m is sieved. A suspension is prepared from the ground bergmeal powder with particle size of (1-10)·10-6 m and sodium hydroxide solution with sodium hydroxide consumption of 400-450 kg/t powder for 15-30 min. Liquid glass with modulus of 2.5-3.0 is obtained. While stirring continuously, dry fine bergmeal powder with particle size of not more than (0.1-1.0)·10-6 m is uniformly and slowly added to the liquid low-modulus glass until achieving modulus of not less than 4.5.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain high-modulus liquid glass of high quality with low content of impurities: Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO and water-insoluble substances of less than 0,20 wt %.
