FIELD: engineering of data carriers and devices for their recording/reproduction.
SUBSTANCE: data carrier 1 has servo-track 4, pointing at information track 9, meant for recording information blocks, represented by marks. Servo-track 4 has periodical alteration of physical parameter on given frequency, portions for encoding information about position, positioned with regular intervals. Modulated portions begin with bit synchronization element and are a data type, having element of data bit, or synchronization type by words, having element for synchronization by words. Bits synchronization element and data bit element are modulated in accordance to one given type of modulation of periodical alteration. Modulated portions only contains modulated portions 40,41 of isolated bit synchronization type, having only bit synchronization element. Also described is device for reading from aforementioned data carrier and/or recording to it.
EFFECT: increased reliability of synchronization.
