FIELD: geophysics, applicable in earthquake forecast.
SUBSTANCE: seismic waves radiated by an aftershock are detected. The seismoreceivers are installed in the vertices of an equilateral triangle, whose side may be equal to 150 to 1000 mm. The measured time delays on the triangle are introduced in a computer, where the location of the aftershock is determined in the polar coordinate system, in particular, the direction to the aftershock hypocenter and the distance to it, the depth of the aftershock onset and the distance from the point of installation of the seismostation to the epicenter. The method realized by an automatic system in real time.
EFFECT: enhanced truth of the method.
