FIELD: aviation.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes radiation of radio pulses from two points located at the beginning and at the end of runway along its axis. Radiation of radio pulses is performed by the master-slave method. One antenna is mounted at each point: at vertices of equilateral triangle (nose and wing tips). Then aircraft flight is shifted to horizontal plane, radio pulses are received, time delays of arrival of signal to antennae are measured; bearings, elevation angles and horizontal range to nearest point of radiation are determined. Similar actions are performed relative to far point and bearings to nearest point and to far point are compared; if magnitudes thus found are equal, runway axis and aircraft axis lie in one vertical plane. Comparison of bearings and all calculations are made in real time according to calculated algorithm; elevation angle and horizontal range to nearest point of radiation are used for determination of touch-down area of aircraft with runway.
