FIELD: machine engineering, possibly restoration of reversing gear transmissions with backlash-free gearing.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying onto standard gear wheel layer of titanium whose thickness is no more than allowance for tooth profile and then subjecting it to passivation; mounting standard and worn gear wheels in working positions, placing them into electrolyte; connecting worn gear wheel to cathode and applying onto it galvano-mechanical coating at rotating wheels; depositing coating onto working profile of teeth of worn gear wheel. Worn gear wheel is plated at reversing rotation of it in each revolution while one of gear wheels is braked. At time moment of reversing gear wheel, backlash between working profiles of gear wheels is detected. Coating is deposited until backlash is eliminated.
EFFECT: restoration of accuracy of gear wheel profile, elimination of backlashes of reversing toothed transmissions.
