FIELD: compositions of steels; improved quality of surfaces of aluminum blanks.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes the following stages: preparation of molten aluminum alloy from 7xxx group of registered Aluminum Association alloys not practically containing Be; addition of approximately 0.0005 to 0.5 mass-% of Ca and grain-grinding additive to molten aluminum alloy; grain-grinding additive is selected from group consisting of mass-%: 3Ti-1B-Al, 3Ti-0.15C-Al; then casting of aluminum alloy is performed for obtaining blank.

EFFECT: improved surface properties of blank cast from aluminum alloy.
