FIELD: chemical industry; other industries; methods of shaping of the heterogeneous ion-exchange membranes.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the methods of forming on the surface of the ion-exchange membranes of the certain geometrical shape stimulating the mass-transfer through the membranes in the electrodialysis apparatuses. The method of shaping of the ion-exchange membranes by molding provides that the membranes are preliminary transferred in the swollen state and then molded at the temperatures of 80-90°C with their aging period under the loading equal to 20-40 seconds. The invention ensures the increase of the active surface of the ion-exchange membranes, reduction of the value of their adhesion power, elimination of the thermodestruction and breakup of the membranes microstructure.
