METHOD OF AND DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC BRAKING OF TRAIN AT DERAILMENT OF CAR Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B60T7/12

FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed to provide safety at passenger and freight carriages. According to proposed method, vertical vibration accelerations appearing on unsprung parts of car bogies at running of train are traced in "non-stop" mode getting continuous electric signals which are converter into low-frequency discrete signals with preset step of quantization. Then dispersion of spectrum of vibration accelerations is evaluated as time data field and is compared with reference "background" field. If time data prevails over "background" field, derailment is identified and control signal is formed to apply train brakes. Identification of derailment and forming of control signal for each zone of tracing of vibration accelerations are carried out in common self-contained closed cycle, and control signal is formed as remote communication signal, for instance, radio signal supplied to receiver coupled with standard system of locomotive. Proposed device is made in form of n-row of independent units, each directly communicating with standard control system of locomotive and being formed by series-connected vertical vibration acceleration pickup, low frequency filter, analog-to-digital converter and element to calculate dispersion of acceleration spectrum connected to input of comparator, to other input of which reference "background" field source is connected, all indicated devices being arranged in housing.

EFFECT: improved reliability and provision of quick identification of derailment owing to simplified algorithm of process, provision of emergency braking owing to reliability and address evaluation of derailment, reduced time interval in "derailment-braking" cycle, enlarged operating capabilities of device and decreased cost of identification of derailment.
