FIELD: process for producing of double-layer thermally shrinkable insulating tape for corrosion protection of steel main pipelines used in various branches of industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves extruding substrate tape from high pressure polyethylene or copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate "Sivilane" with 5-30% content of vinyl acetate groups; performing calendaring; carrying out electronic-chemical modification by irradiating with the use of flow of accelerated electrons until dose of 0.1-1.8 MGy is absorbed; providing uniaxial orientation by 3-10% at temperature of 60-65 C, followed by applying of polymer-bitumen adhesive onto cold substrate tape.
EFFECT: provision for producing of double-layer thermally shrinkable tape with desired strength characteristics as well as thermal shrinkage properties.
