PULSED-PERIODIC GAS LATER AND SURGICAL LASER UNIT Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC H01S3/00 H01S3/22 A61B18/00 A61B18/04

Abstract RU 2286628 C1

FIELD: gas lasers for scientific research, medicine, laser surgery, and cosmetology.

SUBSTANCE: proposed gas laser has working chamber, main-discharge fixed electrodes, pre-ionization electrodes, optical resonator, and high-voltage power supply, as well as discharge-tube angular position sensor connected to control unit. Inserted in high-voltage power supply circuit are ballast resistors, storage capacitors, compensating capacitors, and discharge-tube fixed electrodes. Control unit is connected to control inputs of motor power supply and high-voltage power supply. Main-discharge central electrode is free to rotate synchronously with revolving electrodes of discharge tube. Gas mixture incorporates in its composition carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen (N2).Surgical laser unit has pulsed-periodic gas laser, pilot laser, optical fiber, focusing lens, radiation energy meter, and control unit. This surgical laser unit incorporating efficient laser of simplified design and low cost is characterized in high operating efficiency, reduced manufacturing and maintenance cost, reduced risk of damage to patient's tissue, and enhanced safety for patients and personnel.

EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, reduced mass, size, and cost, enhanced mobility, facilitated servicing of unit.
