FIELD: rolled material.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the rolling of rolled material. The material to be rolled alternately in two rolling directions opposite to each other is passed through the roll gap between the two work rolls of the reversible rolling stand. In the contact zone, in which the rolled material bears against the work rolls, a lubricant is introduced to lubricate the contact zone, and a coolant is applied to the rolled material and/or the work rolls. The lubricant mixed with the carrier gas is sprayed onto the work rolls and/or onto the rolled material exclusively on the downstream side of the rolling pass. The coolant is discharged onto the work rolls and/or onto the rolled material exclusively on the inlet side of the rolling pass.
EFFECT: amount of supplied lubricant is reduced, and the removal of increased amounts of coolant from the reversing rolling stand on the output side is prevented.
