FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of treating hydrogen peroxide containing water and may be used to decompose hydrogen peroxide in waste water or process water prior to be drained into sewerage systems or into natural reservoirs. Hydrogen peroxide is removed from water by bringing it into contact with catalyst, which is flotation cinder: sulfuric acid production waste. Flotation cinder can contain iron, copper, zinc, silver, cobalt, and selenium. Invention thus ensures effective removal of residual amounts of hydrogen peroxide in drinking, reused, and waste waters using accessible, easy-to-prepare, and reasonably priced catalyst causing no excessive environmental damage under decomposition.
EFFECT: reduced operation expenses and improved environmental condition.
