FIELD: gaseous-discharge electronic devices used as lighting lamps in industry and in the home.
SUBSTANCE: proposed lamp characterized in automatic or remote and unattended ON/OFF operation and long life of 5 000 to 10 000 hours has electronic circuit with two photodiodes, comparison circuit, microchip, and control buttons newly introduced in its electronic circuit and mechanical design. One photodiode functions to measure light flux from lamp and other one measures natural illuminance. Signals arriving from these photodiodes are passed through amplifiers to comparison device and lamp is automatically turned on or off according to preset illuminance threshold. Mode-of-operation controls in the form of push-buttons are installed on lateral end of lamp base. Lamp is provided with external control signal receiver enabling its turn-on and turn-off from remote control panel. Ability of remote control enables disposing lamp in any desired place of room or outdoors dispensing with switch or third conductor. This simplifies network design as it can dispense with switch and with conductors running to and from the latter, number of transfer contracts is reduced, wiring of lighting circuit is facilitated thereby enhancing reliability and safety of power mains. These advantages are perceptible in particular when wiring lighting circuit of summer cottage or country house plot and operating lighting devices in difficult-to-get-at locations. User-selected or automatically harnessed programs, such as annular light cycle are introduced in control microchip. Additional electronic circuit introduced in design of prior-art lamp enhances its cost by 2 or 3 dollars (USA) but essentially reduces its maintenance charges and power requirement due to eliminating the human factor.
EFFECT: reduced power requirement and maintenance charges, enlarged service life of lamp.
