GRINDING AND POLISHING ADAPTER WITH DISC WORKING ORGAN (VARIANTS) Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B24D9/08 B24D13/14 

FIELD: abrasive working processes and equipment, possibly grinding and polishing articles of different profiled configurations and articles with flat surfaces.

SUBSTANCE: adapter includes working organ having rigid disc, working disc and disc-substrate for mounting grinding or polishing tool in the form of flexible disc. Flexible flat incompressible small-thickness disc is used for rigidly mounting it onto working disc. The last has working surface corresponding to geometry of worked surface and it is rigidly mounted on rigid disc. Disc-substrate has mechanism for rapidly mounting and changing tool and it is secured to flexible flat incompressible disc. Diameter of said flexible disc exceeds diameter of rigid disc and working disc by value necessary for closing crossing of lateral surface of working disc with flat surface and it is equal to diameter of disc-substrate. Working organ has through openings for removing dust from worked surface. In variant additional disc-substrate is mounted between rigid and working discs with possibility of detaching adapter and readjusting it.

EFFECT: improved quality of worked articles due to enhanced micro- and macro-geometry of their surfaces in condition of similar pressure of tool on different zones of worked surface.
