FIELD: machine engineering, possibly finish chemical-mechanical working of part surfaces.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying onto blank chemically active composition. Said composition may react with blank for forming on it conversion coating that is not dissolved in chemically active composition and protects blank against further reaction. Contact of tool with blank is provided at their relative motion till achieving desired characteristics of blank surface. Then conversion coating is removed from blank surface for exposing portions of blank surface for further reaction with chemically active composition and for forming new conversion coating. Method is suitable for working engaged gear wheels and races of bearing assemblies with rolling members.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of working due to controlling speed of metal removal from blank surface at high accuracy.
