FIELD: machine engineering, possibly manufacture of gear wheels of materials having trend to occurring flaws such as burning and cracking at depth electric-contact gear polishing with application of active impregnators.
SUBSTANCE: tool includes boss, toothed rim and lead for supply of electric current with safe low voltage. Toothed rim is divided by portions inclined by acute angle relative to plane normal to lengthwise axis of tool. Portions of toothed rim are in the form of discs having diamond-abrasive coating on lateral faces of teeth and joined with boss through elastic members. Impregnated toothed discs of copper-graphite alloy whose height is no less than height half of diamond-abrasive toothed discs are mounted with possibility of changing their position relative to tool axis and adjacent disc between said diamond-abrasive discs. Electric current is supplied to diamond-abrasive toothed discs and to worked blank. In description of invention formula is given for calculating inclination angle of discs to plane normal relative to lengthwise axis of tool.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and accuracy of polishing gear wheels without burnings at lowered thermal stresses of process.
