FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to abrasive machining and may be used for finishing flat surfaces of hard-to-grind metals and alloys liable to burns and micro cracks. Machining is carried out by discontinuous face tool made up of case with hone holders accommodating diamond abrasive hones. Tool is revolved and fed across lengthwise axis of table with billet per every work stroke of said table. Said case is provided with cylinders arranged at acute angle to lengthwise axis to accommodate pistons with rods to reciprocate therein. Hone holders jointed together by coil compression springs are articulated to rod spherical faces. Cylinder hear ends are filled with pressurised oil and communicated via bypass orifices with central chamber communicated via hollow spindle with external hydraulic station.
EFFECT: higher quality and efficiency of processing, sparing use of diamond abrasive tools.
