FIELD: manufacture of building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to manufacture of porous artificial articles and can be used in manufacture of granulated heat-insulation material serving as extralight aggregate for concretes in industrial and civil engineering. Raw mix of invention comprises microsilica (41.4%), caramel (0.2-0.8%) produced as waste in sulfate-pulp processing of wood, sodium hydroxide solution (21.5%, concentration 45.22% on the basis of Na2O), and water in balancing amount. Process of invention consists in preparation of slurry from mix components, hydrothermal treatment at 80-90°C and atmosphere pressure for 10-15 min, granulation and subsequent heat treatment of crude granules at 350-400°C for 10 min.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption due to eliminated stage of preliminary heat treatment of crude granules, reduced loose density and increased total porosity of granulated heat-insulation material.
