SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing porous artificial products and can be used in manufacture of granulated heat-insulating material suitable as extra light aggregate for concretes in industrial and civil construction. Raw mix for manufacturing granulated heat-insulating material including microsilica (41.4%), 45.22% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (21.5% on conversion to Ha₂O), and water further contains 0.2-0.8% of rectification product of crude tall oil from sulfate-cellulose processing of wood having acidic number 196 mg KOH/g. Method of manufacturing such granulated heat-insulating material from indicated from indicated raw mix is distinguished by comprising preparation of suspension form mix components, hydrothermal treatment of suspension at 80-90°C and atmosphere pressure for 10-15 min, granulation and subsequent heat treatment of crude granules at 350-400°C for 10 min.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption due to excluded crude granule preliminary heat treatment stage, reduced loose density, and increased total porosity of material.
