FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; devices for supply of current to magnesium producing electrolyzers; production of magnesium by electrolysis of molten raw material.

SUBSTANCE: proposed electrocontact connection includes anode unit made from carbon-containing material, current supply bus, electric conductor in form of bars mounted in electrocontact plugs on one side and welded to current supply bus in fan-shaped pattern on other side. Novelty of invention consists in mounting the electrocontact plugs in holes made in form of bodies of revolution at ratio of hole diameter to its height equal to 1: (1-1.5). Besides that each hole is made in form of truncated cone whose lesser base is directed towards bus. Holes may be cylindrical in shape and round or oval in section.

EFFECT: smooth distribution of current over entire section of anode unit; reduction of electric power losses.
