FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; production of magnesium by electrolysis of molten metal chlorides.

SUBSTANCE: proposed power lead includes monolithic sections connected to bus duct and to electrode. Novelty of invention consists in form of power lead which has two monolithic sections and one section in form of plate stack; sections are rigidly interconnected by means of semi-automatic arc welding. Cross-sectional areas of monolithic and stacked sections are equal; monolithic sections are rectangular in shape and stacked section is made in form of parallelogram. Stacked section is located between monolithic sections. Angle of inclination of sides of parallelogram ranges from 20 to 40°.

EFFECT: ease in servicing of electrolyzer both in mounting and operation; improved contact between power lead sections; enhanced reliability; reduced capital outlays.
