FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: one primary and one-two auxiliary sets of cylinders subject to loads applied to chassis wheels and engine output are formed to follow sequence of cylinder operation in each set and shift of the first conditional cylinder of next set relative to first cylinder of primary set through angle α put into crankshaft turn degrees between points of like strokes in normal engine operation, or αk, where k is response ratio, to allow, in every said set, an "expanded" ICE firing sequence with spacing of misses between working stroke points expressed in appropriate crankshaft turn angle φ', equal to (2πm-πi)/i+π, where m is ICE crankshaft rpm corresponding to complete cycle of operation of all engine cylinders, I is the number of cylinders. Thus, alternate miss in cylinder operation is ensured subject to required output at every crankshaft revolution by fuel feed cutoff in engine cylinders cutoff.

EFFECT: longer life, higher reliability.
