FIELD: control of gas flows of protective atmosphere in glass bath.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method excludes or reduces penetration of cold flow of protective gas into high-temperature zone of glass bath which may cause local distortion of upper surface of glass due to arising compression stresses. To this end, barrier located across bath is set in rotation in way of motion of glass belt or in opposite direction at speed of 0.01-5 rev/s. Device is provided with barrier rotating mechanism and barrier is provided with tubes for delivery of protective atmosphere to glass bath.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
