FIELD: production of float-glass of increased thickness.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method makes it possible to obtain glass bands from 14.0 to 30.0 mm thick at enhanced optical parameters. Glass band is molded in molten bath in two stages: limitation of transversal spreading of glass mass to viscosity of 105 P is carried out by means of limiting members which are set in oscillatory motion in plane coinciding with end plane of edges of glass band and then limitation of spreading to viscosity of 106 P is carried out by means of bead-forming roller mechanisms which are engageable with upper surface of glass. Angle of direction of oscillatory motion of limiting members changes from 0 to 90° relative to longitudinal axis of glass band.
EFFECT: improved optical parameters of glass.
