FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely blast furnace production, possibly for increasing useful life period of blast furnace lining.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of loading into furnace charge containing iron ore materials such as agglomerate, iron ore, coke and cyclically fed lining-slag forming titanium-containing additive loaded to peripheral zone of furnace; melting charge. Titanium-containing additive mixed with agglomerate and iron ore is started to load in blast furnace 24 - 36 h before and ended 6 - 10 h before beginning of technological interruption of furnace operation. Iron ore load is lowered at increased heating of cast iron and increasing content of silicon in it by 0.2 - 0.5% in comparison with melting of charge without titanium-containing additive.
EFFECT: increased useful life period of blast furnace lining.
