FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely processes for heat treatment of rail straps used in upper structures of railway roads.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating rail straps till temperature 860 - 880°C; piercing openings in them and cooling them in incombustible iron-containing salt of poly-acrylic acid diluted by water at relation 1 : 8 at temperature 20 - 60°C. Invention provides lowered inter-flake spacing of pearlite and reduced quantity of free -structure ferrite in surface layer of straps.
EFFECT: improved operational strength, increased rigidity of straps, enhanced ecology of manufacturing process.
