FIELD: electrical engineering; tubular-plate alkali cell manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for manufacturing porous base of alkali-cell tubular plate includes coating of both sides of porous band or backing with active material in the form of powdered nickel with mean particle size of 2.9 μm and binder, drying and baking in reducing atmosphere at temperature of 990-1010 °C; proportion of powdered nickel introduced in active material is 20-40% of total mass; thickness of base external layer is kept between 50 and 150 μm.
EFFECT: enhanced electrical and mechanical characteristics of plate.
